A funny thing I’ve noticed. Brademante’s look has changed a little from the start. Not in any objectively big way. But I’ve noticed a gradual change. I render Brad (and all recurring characters in the game) with models (mannequins?) that show their common look and equipment. These are then input into the prompt to give character stability. But characters who have been in the game for the long haul, get new models as their look and equipment change. New models are generated by text (and occasionally images from other sources) until I find a look I like. That is then Model1.

The most obvious thing, her hair has gotten curlier/wavier in spite of curls never being in the prompt. I’d also say her face has gotten rounder. In Brad1 her face and nose are longer. Maybe more of an academic look? By Brad20 her face is rounder, nose is shorter? Cuter in a more energetic sort of way?

I’m not sure what all caused the shift, although I can reconstruct a few things. For one, I’ve changed from GPT Image 1.5 to GPT Image 2.0 now GPT Image 2.5 during this run. Maybe a change in renderer bias?
Now I do need to emphasize ALL of the models after Brad1 were derived from each other. So why did the Brad7 look sort of take over the game?
One thought, with no intent to *change*, I think I just *liked* Brad7 and gravitated towards its use in many renders and built later models from it.
This all really jumped out at me when I was rereading the first post of this playthrough. I noticed her face was a little different in earlier updates. And by the time they all arrive in Baldur’s Gate both face styles appear in different renders (I use different models for a render based on equipment and pose), so that is the transition period.
A related (?) oddity is with Amyntor.

That would be when he first got plate armor. I think I went with this image because apart from his face being slightly non-typical it captures everything else I wanted just fine. I did try to EDIT this image to change his face and failed! This was with the AI edit, not a more old school sort of thing. But it seems to me the AI cannot tell a difference between the faces? I imagine its measuring distances/ratios between features and looking at curves? Maybe its confusing because the angle is different?
In no other case have I been unable to get a better Amyntor. And I could probably fix this one *by starting from scratch*? But it is curious to me that the AI can’t fix this image with a basic “put this face on this body” sort of command (which I have used successfully in many other cases).
Obviously, character stability has improved *vastly* from when I started with this over two years ago. And the shift in Brad is maybe minor. At least to say, if we were looking at a human drawn graphic novel we would just expect some of this sort of shift between artists. The major tells being things like “short, dark long auburn hair, fair skin, yellow triangle shield with red rose and a pale green blouse/tunic/surcoat when appropriate” being consistent throughout.
But as photo realism becomes a more attainable goal, I tend to notice when it looks like we changed actors mid-series.
