That seemed fast! The epic wrap up of Icewind Dale went by at a blistering pace.

We faced massive numbers of undead in a desecrated Temple of Illmater in Lower Dorn’s Deep. Wendelin was not intimidated. In these sorts of battles, she is the dominant warrior.
We found a giant longship on a molten river. We could all see Palomedes’ mind working overtime to come up with a fitting song!
And we finally faced the great villain of the story. Brother Poquelin was no Priest of Illmater, but rather a demon in disguise.

Epilogue

After two months of almost constant fighting. It had finally come to end, right back where it started.

The team stuck around to help rebuild, mostly in Easthaven. This took about two months, but it was good quality time. They got to know the locals and all worked together on their common goal. The inn was rebuilt first and became a place of community, rest and healing.

Big things happened as soon as the team got back home. Akamas and Wendelin decided no more adventures for them, they took permanent training positions at the temple.

And there was the long expected big change for Palomedes and Zephyr. Akamas and Wendelin were honored to “give away” the bride… to their son. Life does take unexpected turns.

The young couple often traveled. Palomedes loved to entertain and they both delighted in seeing more of Faerun. But they returned home often, and when their children arrived they stayed closer to home, to lead an orphan’s ministry…

Atalanta and Roland were the biggest surprise. They seem to have decided individually they were needed in the North.

Atalanta was perhaps the greatest warrior in Icewind Dale of her generation. She married a local and became a local.
Roland saw a need to serve the community, with spiritual services and healing.

*****

This was a powerful and dominant party from the start. Three paladins may sound excessive, but IWD really favors such a melee heavy party. And we had enough Arcane magic to cause mayhem, enough healing/curing magic for any hurt, and a Bard that made everything go easier.

And another run comes to an end. Kicking Poquelin’s butt is always fun. He’s such a massive tool.

Three paladins pumped up by a bard really overs a lot of ground. Tossing in additional magic support is almost overkill at that point. Works across a number of gaming systems. Even in my current run letting Maja and Kwan loose supported by Darius’ song can blow through standard encounters. Just have to let Angel and Darius get more creative for the setpiece battles.

I love that longship picture. That’s a great perspective shot. And the happily ever after shots are fun too. The wedding especially, but Atalanta as well.

Trying to wrap up one more chapter in my own series before another vacation. Turns out they just pushed a really irritating bug in the latest update. If *any* of the four AI images fail on your prompt then you can’t see *any* of them. You can see them in the preview, but it won’t let you look at them. And Designer will hang and you have to switch to a previous generation and back. Bah.

I did not encounter that bug while doing these yesterday? That would obviously be a very big problem! Hopefully it will get sorted out quickly.

Funny, the wedding was also my favorite. It just came out completely “right”. By comparison, the Akamas/Wendelin pic fought me all the way.

Apparently the big just crept in without the last 12-15 hrs. Or at least that’s when folks started complaining about it. Sure made my night more difficult.

Wow, I just beat it! My next post has been ready for a couple days. It will go up later today. Hopefully, they’ll get that silliness sorted out soon.
