The team met with Arundel and learned the scope of the problem. They settled on an initial course of investigation.
That night, at the Tavern in Kuldahar, Anastasia was moved to sing a lament to their missing friends. The missing were all Astolpho’s oldest and dearest friends, he showed much emotion.
Marcus was also moved to weep. His new friend Carmen provided support.
They investigated the Vale of Shadows, and battled Yeti and Undead. Eriksen has already proven to be a valuable warrior.
They didn’t find the answers they were looking for, except a threat from Lysan, a priestess of the Frost Goddess Auril. Patrick is a valuable archer and fills gaps Astolpho hadn’t realized the party had.
The growing comradery of the new team, and some intense action together, is lifting spirits and provides a needed focus.

I love that art style when it works. It looks very consistent in this set. I keep meaning to try a run focused on Elmore, but it keeps failing on me strange places. The artist styles all have their quirks. For some reason the Elmore style’s quirks irritate me more. Great when it works though. Currently focusing on Hildebrandt and learning what I can do with that.

But these are all good. The lament in the tavern is probably my favorite, but they all have that old school D&D book feel. The Lysan sniping pic looks very effective as well.

I admit to being pretty pleased with the Elmore cue. Alan Lee is the only other I’ve used much, I haven’t felt a need to go much further. I supplement with view angle and action cues at times. But yeah, I think the best are more static. I love the quiet moment at the Tavern. I think generally looking at the team will remain my focus here, its sort of the key thing for bringing the whole game to life for me.
