Sarah

We returned to Ehlan, with the Rhynn Lanthorn they needed to locate their missing city.

This all went well and quickly, and no doubt the City of Suldanesselar was a sight to behold.

I love watching how Chuck takes in the world around him, he never seems to get cynical or jaded as he takes in the wonders of Faerun.
As we looked more closely, we saw there were fires burning where there shouldn’t be.

We entered the city, looking to help where we could, and save who we could.

There was plenty of trouble here that kept us busy for a few hours.
Iron Golems…
Giant Skeletal Warriors…
Rahshasa, Drow, others...
A Black Dragon…
What Black Dragon?

Irenicus had unloaded a lot of hate on these elves. As we learned the story, he was no outsider. He was “The Exile”.
No doubt there was a tragic story. But here and now he needed to be stopped of the evils he was committing.
Chuck seemed determined but fine. I can’t measure what Irenicus took from him, but Chuck has seemed fine to me. We’ve been happy together. Imoen assures me this is important, but thankfully Chuck does not seem to be suffering in any way.

Soon enough we found our way to the Great Tree of Suldanesselar.

Irenicus had taken the Elven Queen hostage. To watch as he drained power from the great tree itself. All in some mad bid to seize a spot among the Elven Pantheon.

We stopped him, with massive force. But when he fell we were drawn to The Abyss after him.

“Gee Jon, its good to see you again.”

We killed Irenicus again. This time, whatever piece of Chuck had been taken, returned to him. Just as Imoen had been restored when we slew Bohdi. In a rush, we returned to the Elven city.

And this part of our adventure was over.

The burning elven city pic is great! It matches up well with the “Chuck looking up at the city” pic. And Slayer-form Irenicus looks suitably disturbing. I also like Imoen’s “what dragon?”. Hah!

So one more run through BG2 completed. Off to the Throne of Bhaal it is!

Looks like one of Sarah’s hands isn’t quite holding her sword right. Wonder if OpenAI’s image Editor “fix hands” feature would straighten that out?

I totally missed the hand not quite on the sword! I’ll see what I can do.

so yeah, this run is fast coming to an end.

        Any luck with the hands?

Still not sure what I’m doing next. For now filling out a few parties that’ve been on the back burner rather than diving into another big game blog. Illustrated game blogging is certainly a different experience, but man it eats up time and energy.

Trying to decide who fits with Kiara Silvermane – always liked her but never dreamed up companions.

Not as such, I got one where she was clearly holding on to the sword better… by the blade! So I just chose a different one from the same set.

I am definitely burned out on doing this as a “full” thing. But I still want to run BG and IWD a few more times. So I am thinking I’ll just do a couple runs with fewer updates and illustrations, and a much shorter write up!

I’m still nerving up for some sort of Gold Box run. But next, IWD for “Astolpho and the Replacements”. Once I get the team set, I will play more than post I think.
