Sarah

We spent another night together relaxing in Feldpost’s Inn before heading out the next morning. Chuck insisted we needed time getting to know our newest team member. But I think more than that, he couldn’t bear to separate Khalid and Jaheira again. they hadn’t complained! But they sure were happy to have the time together.

Everyone was in good spirits.

I think we need to head out soon. Alora and Imoen have already taken to pranking each other, and its only a matter of time until someone gets really annoyed. Or worse, they start pranking the rest of us. [Co-Pilot]
I think Jaheira was happier with the downtime than she let on [Co-Pilot]

Soon enough we were exploring again.

We met a madman who had decided the skeletons and zombies around him were his family. Maybe they were? We’d seen that he was wanted back in Beregost, when informed of this violence ensued. [Co-Pilot]
Another hot and dusty day [OpenArt]
Minsc was shocked to encounter a talking Chicken. I would have expected him to have the least problem with this. I mean, uh, he’s a ranger right? [Co-Pilot]
At the small Keep of High Hedge we met the mage Thalantyr. The chicken, Melicamp, was an apprentice of his whom we returned home. Thalantyr was not extremely friendly at first. But soon Chuck had him laughing and then we were trading spells and magic items. He has an amazing gift! [OpenArt]

We traveled on towards the coast. Jaheira and Minsc both were of the opinion there were Sirens in the area. They are a sort of water spirit that can bewitch, charm people with the sound of their voice. I’d heard Men were most susceptible to them, but Jaheira didn’t think that was true.
We came across an abandoned lighthouse right on the coast. A villager from nearby asked for our help, her son was cornered by some wolves at the lighthouse.

Alora has proven to be a very good archer. [Co-Pilot]

After taking out the dogs, well we didn’t see a little boy! We went back to mother, and she was pretty sure she knew right where he was hiding and our deed was done.

A little further down the coast we encountered the Sirens! Jaheira didn’t hesitate and rushed right in. [Co-Pilot]

There was also a cave, maybe a smuggler or pirate’s hideout?

There were a number Flesh Golems guarding the site! These are fairly dangerous to deal with, and only magic can harm them. Fortunately we are all well equipped for this now. [Co-Pilot]

The cave also had several traps, so Alora earned her keep again. This was all protecting a nice little stash of loot. We couldn’t tell how long this had been here, but we made out pretty well.
Working our way north we were attacked by a number of ogres.

Jaheira is an excellent partner in any kind of melee. She is skilled and a team player. Which makes me laugh a little, she plays the curmudgeon quite well! [Co-Pilot]

This was an interesting fight, the largest number of ogres I’ve ever faced all at once. Just a few weeks ago they would have done us in. But we are becoming a good team.

That night we talked through a plan of action. I think its time we head east then north to look into the reports of bandit activity. Chuck and Imoen want to investigate an old, haunted, mage school just east of Beregost. Even more, we all had a ton of fun together. Although I had to explain a story Chuck told to Minsc a couple times, I think he believed it! [OpenArt]

So we’ll head out for the Ulcaster School next, then work our way north.

*****

Yeah I like where this team is at. They remain a little weak on Arcane magic, Chuck and Imoen will hit 5th level mage at about the same time.

I’m trying to do a little more with OpenArt, its the only way to actually show Chuck and Sarah with teammates. But wow, it is painfully limited. A big thing, if I put ANY other woman in frame with Sarah, they both become Sarah! And I had a terrible time on that last render convincing the AI that Minsc and Sarah were not being romantic. And its still not a great Minsc. At least it got Boo right!
I may have to accept that showing Chuck or Sarah with teammates will mean hiding their faces (so I can use Co-Pilot).

I like Jaheira’s expression there. She always has such an expressive face – she’s always a great “straight man” to the antics of the rest of the crew. The Flesh Golem pic came out very effective as well. The one with Chuck and Thalantyr is surprisingly good for a multi-character OpenArt render.

Yeah. That was my experience with OpenArt as well. If you use their DALLE-3 model you can do similar things to Copilot. But if you train your own model the baseline you get with it has some pretty severe limitations.

I think you can get Sarah faces in pics on CoPilot if you’re patient with it. It’ll never be perfect, but this isn’t bad:

I can’t get a Chuck that looks *anything* like him though.

I *think*, maybe, the Chuck and Thalantyr picture is two Chucks. But one is aged by 40 years? It is amusing how persistent it is. I’ve also been trying to get Chuck and Sarah together. Of course there’s no way to use two models, but one clear face and the other obscured? I’ve got a couple of marginal use. But OpenArt seriously hates hiding faces. Ironically, Co-Pilot seems to be the better choice for this.

Like you did, I’ve had a few with passable renders. Especially if the face is partially hidden.

my wife has recently been playing with this for digital renders. But I would need more of her artistic skill to make anything with that!
