Over the period of this update I got a lot of little things done, Stronghold adventures for Paladin, Cleric and Mage… Planar Prison, cleared all the Liches out of Athkatla, Helped Captain Dennis find his gong…. the biggest thing was Throne of the Mad God.
I won’t even try to make a narrative of all this, just some images with their captions.

We started with finishing off a certain vampire. Imoen felt a rush of relief to be reunited with her essential parts.Fighting our way to “The Wailing Dwarf”, the stone monument marking the location of an ancient Dwarven Kingdom. Its been over-run with goblins, trolls all sorts of nasties. Christopher has become an effective rear guard, when we get overrun he can keep some distance to allow Imoen and Aerie to do what they do best.Inside there were also Giants, Verbeeg, and a lot more trolls!We were able to meet and converse with the deceased members of Captain Lancemoth’s expedition.Going deeper we started to encounter Derro Dwarves. They seemed to be the top of the hierarchy.A small number of Ettin. Or do we double the number of Ettin?The Throne of the Mad God is a fun Adventure Mod. Easily on a scale with Durlag’s Tower. The whole team was happy to get out in one piece.Some more so than others.No doubt, Jill has become a dangerous and mighty warrior.

I’m still playing around with styles and renderers. GPT-40 can make characters more human, less animated. And it seems to understand complicated prompts more easily. But it is very slow, and sometimes that lack of animation is problematic.
I used simpler video renderers so these would work as GIFs. Overall pretty good I think, but it would have been nice if I could have gotten that thistle closer to Jill for its dramatic death scene!
Some fun ones there. Imoen getting her soul back is great! And that’s a nice, round, mace-looking mace instead of a metal spiked-club monstrosity. Aerie looks great with the spirit. And both the whirling hug and the “lawnmower sword” animations are fun!
I’ve tried GPT40 a number of times, and just never got anything I liked better than what I can get out of DALLE. It does a pretty good job of understanding what I ask for. But it rejects all my style cues, and the style it sticks with doesn’t mesh well with my other stuff. I’m guessing the Ettin, Jaheira, and the Verbeeg are all GPT40?
Yeah you guessed exactly right. I think the human dimensions are better? And I like that it gets things like framing, and who’s in front, who’s behind sort of stuff right. But yeah, its style is all the same, and a bit drab! And it is so slow! Now its accuracy to the prompts helps cancel that out. But overall I still prefer Dall-E.
I do love making the videos. Although actual game type action is *really* hard to get right. Some of the single character animations are much easier to get right. And it understands hugs! But the weed decapitation was tough!
